COVID-19 Closure

March 13, 2020

Dear Peace families,

Governor Evers has closed all public and private schools in Wisconsin from March 18h through April 6th.  Earlier today, Hartford decided to close from March 16th through April 13th

Peace will be closed from Monday, March 16th through April 6th with the possibility to extend through the 13th following our local district.

Our faculty will meet on Tuesday to finalize plans for distance learning options, and I will communicate more information thereafter.  We will not plan for any distance learning during our regularly scheduled Spring Break.

Since classes dismissed at noon today, our students were not able to get their textbooks or Chromebooks.  School will be open prior and after the Saturday and Sunday church services so that students may pick up their things. Look for an email from your child’s teacher with more information about what they should take home.  Students in grades 3-8 may take home the Chromebook that they use in school (even if it’s school owned).

This is certainly a changing situation, and I will do my best to keep you informed.  I know this is a tremendous inconvenience for our families, and I thank you for your understanding and patience.

In all this, remember that God remains in control.  His love is greater than any virus.  He has already overcome the world and ensured salvation.  Perhaps this pandemic will open up new opportunities to share our faith.

Please keep all of those affected by COVID-19 and those who care for them in your prayers.

In Christ,

Mr. Washburn
