In September of 2023, our school doors opened with a completed addition of 9 new classrooms, bathrooms, storage areas, and a renovated cafeteria. This addition has opened up the door for us to being better equipped to share the Gospel with the Hartford community. Check out the construction process from a few years ago.

As of April 2025, we have collected about 75% of the gifts needed to complete the project cost. We praise God that he has led people to be so generous in their support of our school. While the construction is complete, Peace Lutheran daily continues to Build on the Foundation that is Christ. We continue to educate our students, support our staff on this foundation, and we need your continued support and prayers. We still are in need of about $900,000 to fully accomplish this project’s total cost.

Compelled by the love of Christ, we embrace this opportunity to share the Gospel by serving students with FAITH nurturing education, growing our Peace FAMILY, and preparing students for their eternal FUTURE.

Summary

The expansion will be about 15,000 square feet and will include 9 classrooms, bathrooms, and storage. At the same time, we’ll renovate current spaces to provide for an open concept cafeteria for multipurpose use. We’ll regain our music room and have space to grow our school ministry. Five P’s Guide

As families consider their commitment we want Scriptural principles to guide them. These 5 Ps have been helpful for many families.

Prayer

It all starts with prayer. The hymn writer was correct, “Let each day begin with prayer, praise, and adoration.” Jesus himself not only invites us to pray, but to pray at all times for his guidance in every matter. “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Eph 6:18

Personal

It’s all about how I can glorify God. May God guide your prayerful decision as you reflect on what He has given to you, trusting him to bless your plan. “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Cor. 9:7-8

Proportional

It’s not about quantity or amount, but being faithful managers of all that God has placed under your care for the good of His Kingdom. “Now about the collection for the Lord’s people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up so that when I come no collections will have to be made.” 1 Cor. 16:1-2

Pleasing

It’s not about trying to please others or even yourself, it’s about knowing that because of Christ, God freely chooses to be pleased with us and our gifts of love. “They [believers’ gifts] are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:18-19

Peace

It’s about receiving peace through the knowledge that we have made a prayerful, personal, and proportional commitment that is pleasing to God. “And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Phi. 4:7

There are several ways that families can give. Our giving guide provides further details on the different options that are available. The options in summary are these:

Though it is important to invest your giving to further the mission of the ministry God has laid on your heart, it is also important to consider the tax implications of making a gift to the church. Before making a commitment of appreciated assets or IRA distribution, consult your CPA, tax attorney, or other financial advisor.

Needed Gifts

The chart to the right is first and foremost for illustration purposes. It is not meant to be an exact replication of how many gifts of each level are needed.

Many people have found this chart to be a valuable guideline. It helps them break down a larger gift into smaller manageable amounts. For example, one might find committed to $5000 all at once is too difficult; however, $192 each month for a little over two years is much more manageable. Yet, the same goal is achieved.

This chart also acknowledges that God has blessed each family at different levels. And while commitment amounts will vary, what a joy it is to know that all gifts large and small are working together to help spread the Gospel for generations to come!

As we look forward to beginning construction, we know that some members are interested in volunteering their time and donating materials or labor. Now is the time to let us know if you are interested in donating your time or talents to our expansion.
